Hi, I’m Suzanne latapie.

Nice to meet you! I moved to NYC on a whim. My best friend and I took New York Air from North Carolina to New York City with no plans or any idea where to live. While on the plane to New York, my best friend was sitting next to a guy, who knew a guy, who rented us a great studio apartment: with a doorman. I found myself teaching high impact aerobics... it was the Jane Fonda era. There were famous clubs called “The Vertical Club” “New York Health and Racquet” just to name a few. I taught 20 classes a week and biked to all of them. I became one of the first personal trainers in NYC. It was great! Then came marriage, and babies, but I still kept teaching. Eventually I joined my now ex-husband and French chef in building three of NYC’s top bistros. It was great fun, but not a healthy lifestyle. Early mornings, late nights and tons of stress.

During the slow-down of the pandemic I decided to get certified as a health coach. With the extra time indoors, getting certified seemed like a great idea. I also got certified as an Exhale Barre teacher, but couldn’t teach, as studios were closed. I love that I have now gone full circle with my love of exercise and living a life that is health centered. Please feel free to join me as your new coach.

My Approach

What is a health coach and how can they help?

Health & wellness coaches support clients in activating internal strengths and external resources to make sustainable and healthy lifestyle behavior changes. Health coaches use a client-centered approach wherein clients decide their goals, engage in self-discovery or active learning processes, and self-monitor behaviors to increase accountability, all within the context of an interpersonal relationship with a health coach.

Program Overview

The coach’s aims for the first intake session, are to describe the coaching process, review information and provided by the client and discuss the client’s goals for health coaching. It is important to know that coaching is not instructing. Health coaches assist clients in creating his or her vision, goals, and action steps; and the client will be actively engaged in trying new behaviors as planned with the coach. The result is long term behavioral change to better health.
